Phase 3 — Write the Manuscript
Draft chapters one at a time or all at once, and what to do when a chapter fails.
Last reviewed 2026-09-28
Phase 3 writes the book from the blueprint. Each chapter (or page batch, for illustrated and puzzle books) is a separate generation with its own credit cost.
- Draft a single chapter to check the voice, or use "Draft All Remaining" to write the rest in sequence.
- Keep the tab open while drafting is running; progress is saved after each chapter, so a closed tab pauses rather than loses work.
- If a chapter fails, its credits are returned automatically. Use "Retry Failed" to run it again.
Children's, coloring and puzzle books
Here Phase 3 produces pages, not prose. You see a page grid; each page has a pencil icon to edit its prompt and regenerate just that page, and a version history so you can restore an earlier render for free.
Out of credits mid-book
Generation pauses at the current chapter or page. Everything already finished is saved. Top up on the Credits page and continue from where it stopped.
