Troubleshooting: stuck, failed or wrong-looking output
What to do first for each common problem, and when to contact support.

Generation looks stuck
- Refresh the page. Progress is saved on our side, so refreshing never loses finished work.
- Long books and illustrated pages take time — a chapter can take a few minutes, an illustrated page batch longer. Keep the tab open where you can.
- If nothing changes after a long wait, contact support with your project name; stalled jobs are recovered and unused credits returned.
A chapter or page failed
Failed generations refund their credits automatically. Use "Retry Failed" (chapters) or "Retry Failed Pages" (interior pages). If the same chapter keeps failing, shorten or clarify its blueprint entry — editing the blueprint is free — then retry.
Ran out of credits mid-generation
Generation pauses; completed work is saved. Buy credits on the Credits page and continue from where it stopped.
Cover problems
- Preview not loading: refresh, or try a hard refresh; browser ad blockers occasionally block the preview.
- Barcode area: Amazon KDP adds its own barcode at the lower-right of the back cover, so that area is kept clear.
- No spine text on a thin book: expected — spines under Amazon's minimum width must stay clean.
- Wrong wording: ask the Studio assistant to edit the single element rather than regenerating the whole cover.
Interior problems
- Characters look different across pages (children's books): open the "Character Design" panel, use "Rebuild character design", then regenerate the affected pages.
- A puzzle's answer key doesn't match: regenerate that page with the pencil icon.
- Pages missing from the PDF: use "Retry Failed Pages", then rebuild.
- Blank right-hand or left-hand pages in a coloring book: intentional when "Single-sided pages" is on.
- Interior is grayscale even though you picked a theme: your "Ink & Paper Type" is White or Cream (B&W). Switch it to Standard Color or Premium Color in the Design step, keep the theme, then regenerate the interior (charged per page). Re-check the paperback cover afterwards — the spine width changes with the paper.
Editor
- Undo only covers your current session — save often.
- Save failed: check your connection, copy your text, refresh and paste it back.
Export & download
- Download won't open or the ZIP is incomplete: re-download and check the file size; large packages take a moment to finish.
- Changed trim size after building: the Design phase shows "Rebuild needed" — rebuild the listed files first.
Account & billing
- Can't spend credits: verify your email first ("Resend Verification Email" on the verification page).
- Bought credits but the balance didn't change: refresh; if it still hasn't, send your receipt to support.
- Subscription payment failed: update your card in Settings under Subscription & Billing.
Contacting support
Use the Support page and include the book's title, which phase you were in, and what you clicked. Screenshots help.
